A native of Anambra, Nigeria.
Mbaeteka was first spotted at a football camp in that Nigeria in May 2021 by Osi Umenyiora, aformer defensive end who is in the New York Giants Ring of Honor. Mbaeteka hitched a ride from a stranger from Anambra to Lagos, Nigeria in order to attend the camp.
Was one of 13 players chosen to compete for a spot in the 2022 International Player Pathway Program.
Started playing basketball at age 17 and didn't start playing organized football until he was 20. He taught himself through YouTube videos.
