Attended Walled Lake (Mich.) Western High School and played safety, running back, wide receiver and cornerback.
As a senior, he tallied 95 tackles, five interceptions, two fumble recoveries as well as 668 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. He also added 303 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
As a junior, he recorded 30 tackles and two interceptions.
