As the 2013 Colts rookies continue to work on their on-field performance, the team is giving them some time on June 19, to focus on an important off-the-field activity – community service. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, all of the Colts rookies, along with Colts Cheerleaders and Colts alumni players, will participate in a "Rookie Community Blitz" event at the Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center.

Through the "Rookie Community Blitz," the team plans to activate their new players in the community, introduce them to some of Indianapolis' local charities and give youth an opportunity to meet and interact with the players.

During Wednesday's event, the rookies will participate in a variety of activities for nearly 200 underserved youth, ages 14 and under, who are served by John H. Boner Community Center summer camps and the East 10th United Methodist Children and Youth Camp. Wednesday's planned activities include a PLAY 60 Football Camp for youth ages 7-14, as well as a reading time, arts and crafts, and a dance class for ages 6 and under. Each of these activities is designed to highlight two of the Colts key outreach initiatives: PLAY 60 and literacy.
