Colts, Anthem Blue Cross And Blue Shield Honor Fishers "Angel"

Indianapolis – For the 11th year, the Indianapolis Colts and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will celebrate “Anthem Angels…Honoring Everyday Heroes,” Hoosier public and civil servants who have made community contributions beyond the call of duty, but may have received little public recognition.

One “Anthem Angel” is selected and notified prior to each Colts regular season home game. Each “Angel” receives four VIP tickets, a feature story and photo in the Colts gameday magazine (The Scout) and on, and special on-field recognition at a home game.

The eight “Anthem Angel” of 2018 is Sandra VanDenBerg of Fishers, Ind.
VanDenBerg serves as director of Third Phase Christian Center, the only homeless shelter in Hamilton County. In addition to the shelter, she also oversees the Third Phase’s food pantry and thrift store.

In 2018, Third Phase provided shelter for more than 600 individuals, helped feed numerous people and provided free clothing to 579 families through the thrift store.

Seeing the transformation of people who “have reached the bottom and have nowhere else to go, get back on their feet” with the help of Third Phase is something VanDenBerg loves and appreciates.
