The Indianapolis Colts and Crown Royal are celebrating outstanding local veterans who have made a positive impact in their community!
Congratulations to our 2025 recipients
Kent Lewis
Kent served one tour in Iraq and was a member of the national guard for 13 years He is a proud father, husband, and small business owner. He is also a philanthropist helping with our 501c3 dog rescue. He deserves to be nominated because I have never seen a harder worker or more dedicated man to his family and country.
Paris Karnes
Paris Karnes truly embodies what it means to serve with heart. From 2006 to 2018, he dedicated twelve years to the United States Army, completing two deployments and giving his all to his fellow soldiers and his country. As a diesel mechanic, Paris worked behind the scenes to keep his unit moving forward—often in difficult and demanding conditions. His hands kept the mission alive, and his quiet strength inspired everyone around him. Paris never looked for recognition; he simply believed in doing what was right. The same dedication he showed in the Army continues today in the way he cares for others, helps his community, and lives with integrity and humility. His selflessness, loyalty, and heart for service make him someone who truly deserves a crown.
John Craig
John Craig, my father, served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Although he will be the first to tell you that he deserves no recognition, he is my hero. He is always the first person to step up and volunteer at any community event, or to simply help a neighbor out with yard work. I will forever be grateful for his wisdom, sense of humor, servant-leadership, and most of all, his faith in God. The lessons he has taught and continues to teach are everlasting.
Benjamin Shaffer
Ben is a veteran of the United States Army. He served for four years and was deployed to Kuwait for a year. He has always served and helped in any way he could. Since he has been out of the military he continues to volunteer his time with the local fire department and also volunteers at the high school coaching a small engines team. Anytime anyone asks for help, he is the first one to offer help.
