From 8 to 100: A Historic Moment for Girls Flag Football

The Wildcats showed up to showcase their skills at the Combine! Lawrence North High School's Girls Flag and Tackle teams ran through the same drills NFL prospects will take on this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Indianapolis Colts hosted a free Girls Flag Football Clinic at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, open to high school girls in grades 7 through 12, regardless of skill level and experience. Participants had the opportunity to learn from coaches on the Women's Flag National Team and top flag football coaches in Indiana, all while honing their football skills and staying active during the offseason.

The Indianapolis Colts unveiled a new display at Lucas Oil Stadium celebrating the rapid growth of Girls Flag Football across Indiana. Located in the southwest corner of the stadium, the exhibit features photos of athletes from the first high schools to field a girls flag football team, alongside flags representing 100 high school programs. This display joins other notable exhibits honoring Indiana high school football, highlighting the rise of young female athletes and the expanding impact of the sport throughout the state.

The Colts Sunday Night 7-ON-7 Series returned for the 2025 offseason! High school boys tackle and girls flag athletes participated in skill development drills and competitions to get better for the Fall 2025 season!

The Colts, Zaire Franklin, the NFL, and Warren Central High School came together to host an NFL Flag in Schools Unboxing Event at Raymond Park Middle School. 7th and 8th graders learned the ins and outs of flag football through instruction from Global Flag Ambassador Zaire Franklin and the Warren Central Girls Flag Football team. The second year of High School Girls Flag Football wrapped up this fall! With 5 divisions across the state, Indy 3 consisted of Cathedral, Bishop Chatard, Clarksville, Purdue Polytech, Christel House, and Clarksville High Schools.

With the help of the RCX Sports Foundation, Girls Flag teams from Indiana packed flag football kits that were distributed throughout Indiana, to middle schools across the state.
