INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts are proud to announce Officer Shannon Balentine as the fifth honoree of the 2017 Colts Anthem Angels program, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Officer Balentine, a local resident of Westfield, IN, will be recognized at the Colts home game this Sunday, November 12, 2017.

Officer Shannon Balentine has made serving both her country and community a priority in her life. Officer Balentine stated, “Making a positive impact on the community is not a right, it’s a privilege and you have to want to do it.”

In 1995, Officer Balentine joined the United States Navy and served in active duty for four years including two years in the reserves. She recently re-enlisted in the Navy and now serves as a Customs and Border Protection Officer as well as a Master-at-arms in the United States Navy Reserves.

In addition to her military service, Officer Balentine has made volunteering a priority. She is a participant in the Presidential Volunteer Program and has completed over 1,800 hours of community service to a variety of organizations. She also volunteers at the Indiana State Police Youth Camp – a camp for high school students who are interested in careers in law enforcement and/or the military. Officer Balentine attended the camp as a 16 year-old and enjoys being able to give back.

For her commitment and dedication to our country and community, we want to congratulate Officer Shannon Balentine as this week’s Anthem Angel.

Officer Balentine will receive four (4) VIP Club Seat Tickets to the Colts game, a feature story with her photo in the Colts gameday magazine (the Scout) and on www.colts.com, as well as on-field recognition at the game.

Nominations are currently being accepted for upcoming 2017 home games. For more information about Anthem Angels, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, please visit: www.colts.com/anthemangels.
