On Sunday September 19th before the Indianapolis Colts home opener against New York Giants, the Colts will set off two pyrotechnic booms at the far southeast corner of Lucas Oil Stadium's south parking lot (corner of Capitol Avenue & McCarty Street). The first pyrotechnic boom will be a supervised test at 2:30 p.m. At approximately 7:40 p.m., a series of three booms will be set off. The booms will be audible over a one mile radius and will signify to Colts tailgaters that there is 50 minutes to kickoff.

The pyrotechnic booms at 7:40 p.m. will also signal the "Horseshoe Pipers" to begin their parade march to the stadium. Included in this group will be 20 pipers and drummers of all ages. They will gather at the Blue Crew Lot (southeast corner of South Street & Pennsylvania Street) long before the game and will begin the march to the north end of the stadium at the signal of the 7:40 p.m. boom. Everyone is welcome to follow the parade. The Pipers will proceed to the Lucas Oil Gate (North Gate) and play outside the stadium until 5 minutes before kickoff.

Pedestrian and vehicular traffic may be briefly halted in the immediate vicinity of the pyrotechnic booms.
