LB-DAVID THORNTON (on defensive injuries)*Training Camp
*
"Our whole front four is down, but at the same time we definitely have to have young guys step up and fill the void. It's a physical game and you're going to have injuries. You definitely want to have as many guys healthy in training camp as possible. It's an opportunity to build your chemistry, continuity and things like that. Injuries are a part of the game and we want these guys fully recovered when they come back."
LB-DAVID THORNTON (on rookie DB-Marlin Jackson)*Training Camp
*
"Nick Harper is down, but Marlin Jackson is stepping in doing a good job right away for us. He's a rookie performing big time, making some big hits. If I would give him a grade, it would be a B . He's definitely going to be an "A" player for us. Right now, his energy, effort and desire to do well gives him a B because he's definitely above average. He's a winner, has a winning attitude and I like the energy he brings to the table."
LB-DAVID THORNTON (on DB-Joseph Jefferson and his transition from CB)*Training Camp
*
"Jefferson is doing a phenomenal job right now. He's a natural safety actually. He played the position before, so it's nothing new to him. It's all about him getting a better understanding of the defensive scheme that (Head) Coach (Tony) Dungy wants him to do. I think he's doing a great job."
LB-DAVID THORNTON (on Saturday's game against the Bills)*Training Camp

"Our game plan is first and foremost to stop the run. They have a great running back (in Willis McGahee). We want to go out and contain him from getting any big plays going. From that point on, make them a one dimensional team and see if we can create some turnovers and get some picks out there."
