HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on if this week is like cramming for finals) 11/23/04
"It is. It's tough. It's helpful when you have veteran guys, and you can't do too much. You have to play fundamentally sound and just go in and go. You'd like to utilize some of the things you see on film and try to take advantage of the things you see, but there's if you put too much in and don't execute it right, then that's no good either. I think you have to try to feel out what your guys can absorb. And offensively, we're probably able to put in a little bit more."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on if the schedule really does disrupt the seven-day routine) 11/23/04
"It is different for the guys. We had a little practice (following the Monday Night game vs. Minnesota), because you only have six days. This is even a shorter deal. So, it's not what we're used to, it's probably not ideal, but you can get it done."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on the Lions being close to .500 on Thanksgiving Day) 11/23/04
"(The home-field advantage) is not as much as people think. The perception is that they win all of the time, and the perception is Dallaswins all of the time, but it's not that way. Usually, they're good games and they go back and forth. They have a little advantage that the home team normally would have, the crowd and everything. And I think the home team does have a slight advantage on the short week not having to travel. But, I can remember as a Lions fan growing up, I know they didn't win them all."
HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY(on how it feels going back to Michiganwith family and friends) 11/23/04
"It's always neat for me, to go back and be in your home area. I haven't seen Ford Field, so it won't be the same. It will be a new experience that way, but going back to Detroit and playing on Thanksgiving having watched so many of those games growing up when I was young, it will be special."
