HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (General Comments) Wednesday, September 23, 2009 “We feel we’ve made the necessary adjustment for our practice today (after playing a physical game on Monday) and have taken in consideration the short week.  We won’t modify (the practice schedule) much.

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (General Comments) Wednesday, September 23, 2009* *

"We feel we've made the necessary adjustment for our practice today (after playing a physical game on Monday) and have taken in consideration the short week.  We won't modify (the practice schedule) much.  We are trying to take all of those things into account.  We will end up shortening a period or two.  We won't get away from what we ordinarily do.  We believe in how we've gone about doing things.  Those things supersede any radical adjustments we make in preparation for this game."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On how the players feel today) Wednesday, September 23, 2009

"They seem like they normally do on a Wednesday coming off of a really tough battle.  They are focused and ready to go."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On updates on LB-Gary Brackett and DB-Kelvin Hayden) Wednesday,

"It's day to day with both guys.  We will monitor them closely.  We are hoping to get them back, but we are not real certain."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On resigning LB-Jordan Senn) Wednesday,

"We have some guys who are bumped and bruised, and he would give us some help."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On the approach on offense if time of possession is limited) Wednesday, September 23, 2009

"You try not to allow it to get to that point.  The way you prevent that is you don't allow them to go on long drives.  You get them off the field on third down.  Teams over the years have gone in with that idea in mind but maybe have not been able to carry it out.  There have been a few teams of late that have been able to carry it out and limit our possessions the last two three years.  Now, I think it's more vogue when you face us.  It does indeed force us to be near perfect in terms of our offensive football, which is tough to do."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On the QB-Peyton Manning sack in Miami) Wednesday, September 23, 2009

"It was just a mistake, plain and simple.  It didn't have anything to do with the scheme or anything or that nature.  We made a mistake."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On Cardinals QB-Kurt Warner) Wednesday,

"He is a guy that has been very consistent year in and year out.  He does a great job in terms of throwing the football.  He is extremely accurate.  He leads the NFL right now with about 71 percent completion percentage.  He also has a good sense of what it takes to win ball games.  He is the consummate leader.  He plays with a lot of poise.  He spreads the ball around quite a bit.  He has some good weapons to get the ball to, and he utilizes every one of them."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On QB-Peyton Manning and QB-Kurt Warner) Wednesday,

"Both guys have a wealth of experience and are at the top of their game.  The unique thing about them is the fact that when you play as long as Kurt has played, he has seen a little bit of everything.  He has a real good feel for defensive football."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On Cardinals WR-Larry Fitzgerald and WR-Anquan Boldin) Wednesday, September 23, 2009

"They are a great combination.  They are big and strong.  They can jump and run.  They are tough and can take short passes and turn them into long gains.  Their run after the catch is something to behold.  They (Cardinals) utilize them in a number of different ways with short and intermediate passes.  They move them around with a lot of motions and shifts.  They can make it difficult for you.  Boldin has 10 receptions and Fitzgerald has 10 receptions, but the leading receiver is (Tim) Hightower, who also can give you some problems."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On if DB-Bob Sanders will practice today) Wednesday, September 23, 2009

"He is doing a few things.  No practice today.  He is working his way in that direction."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On being 2-0) Wednesday, September 23, 2009

"For us, we don't take it for granted.  We've had to win tight, very tough games.  We know, without question, had we not done the few things right there at the end to close it out, we could be looking at 1-1 or 0-2.  It's only two games.  The only thing it assures us now is we won't go 1-15.  Every week you have to go out and prove yourself.  Every week is a tough battle."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (On seeing more of the wildcat) Wednesday, September 23, 2009

"I would certainly think so at some point in time.  Teams take a look at you closely and if it's something within their system, they will do it.  I don't think it's something teams will do strictly for us.  Teams won't all of a sudden work on something that is foreign to what they've worked on over the weeks.  Some teams may have it in a modified version and are going to increase it.  They may take a real good look at it if you look at the results of our game on Monday Night."
