Colts Quotes vs. Tennessee

OWNER AND CEO-JIM IRSAY (on winning the division and making the playoffs) Sunday, January 2, 2011 “10-6 is as sweet as 14-2.

OWNER AND CEO-JIM IRSAY (on winning the division and making the playoffs) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"10-6 is as sweet as 14-2. What the coaching staff and the players and everyone in the organization was up against in trying to deal with players that were injured and deal with all of the circumstances of a tough division, it's really sweet. It's hard to win in this league. To win the division again is really special. You really take this one in deeply."

OWNER AND CEO-JIM IRSAY (on facing the New York Jets in the playoffs) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"We are excited about it. We got a break on the seeding in the sense that you just don't know what'll happen in the divisional round, if you can make it that far, in hoping that you can have a championship game here again. It couldn't have been a better day for us working out that way. We just got to get a couple of guys healed up. I think the injuries look okay, but it's a short week, so guys will have to get ready pretty quick."

OWNER AND CEO-JIM IRSAY (on if this division championship has a different significance than the others) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I think so to some degree because it was so hard fought and against a lot of odds. You always take in the fact that when you can win your division how meaningful that is. You bring up a really good point, and I was thinking about that this week, sitting at 6-6, and just telling Jim Caldwell in (the locker room), how proud I was of the job he did and the whole coaching staff and everyone, it's a little sweeter. You're going to enjoy it, temporarily, a little bit more because literally what we were going up against, and no one makes excuses or explanations. I think the owner is allowed to speak on behalf of my complete staff, from Bill Polian and Jim Caldwell and everyone, we know what they were up against and how difficult it was. To overcome all of that and win the division it is a little extra special."

OWNER AND CEO-JIM IRSAY (on if he saw DE-Robert Mathis recover the fumble or if he was already on the way down to the field) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"No, I can get down here pretty quick, so I saw the whole thing and saw the kick. Something told me K-Adam (Vinatieri) was going to make that. I had a feeling. What a great thing to have Adam playing so well and what a pro and Hall-of-Famer, and he's been doing that for us all year when we've needed it and all day today."

OWNER AND CEO-JIM IRSAY (on not sweating the close ones) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It was tough, and you don't want to back in, but obviously the Houston game with Jacksonville game ended and it showed where it was going a little bit sooner. That was a bit of a relief, but you still wanted to win it. You wanted to go into it that way. What an exciting day for the fans, to see that game going on, to see the tough turnover and get it back and then to move it and kick it in regulation. I think we really deserved to kick it at the end of regulation. In our division, we've had some extremely tough ones against us, long ones, 58-, 60-yards to beat us. It was nice to finally be able to do it for us."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on if the end of the game nerve racking) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"We've had a few of those. Every game is going to be tight and can come down to the wire most of the time. Tennessee played a great game, played very, very well and did a tremendous job against us. We're fortunate to get that turnover, back-to-back turnovers. We can't take credit for God's handy work, that's for sure."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on the defense) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Defense played really well, really stiffened when they had to. For a minute there it looked like they had us a little bit on our heels, but we fought back, got the pressure when we needed it, got a couple big sacks, didn't allow them to get back there and get in the pocket and get comfortable. He (QB-Kerry Collins) had been throwing the ball pretty well. Defense did a great job of stopping the run. I think they only had 46 yards or so, far under their normal totals. That's a tribute to the guys on defense. They did a nice job of putting it all together and did a tremendous job of keeping one of the best backs in the league under control."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on taking more time off the clock and getting Vinatieri closer) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Sometimes it depends on the wind. Sometimes it just depends on a number of different factors. We knew we were well inside of his range. We had considered moving into the middle of the field, but he likes it on that hash and that's not a problem. We just kind of ran it down and he put it through. You know he's answered the bell so many times in his career. He's a clutch guy. Does a tremendous job and we certainly don't take it for granted."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on if WR-Pierre Garcon's play is symbolic to the team in that it seems like you get what you need, but not everything you want) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Sometimes you contribute some of that to the opposition. They get paid to play defense. We may not have been as sharp as we like. That's a good football team. They play real solid ball. Not everybody is going to be perfect. That's kind of the way it is in these games. We had a couple of guys come through and make plays when we needed them."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on WR-Blair White's effort for this game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Yeah, he has certainly done a nice job for us.He is one of those guys who is young and gains experience every single week. He comes up with big plays and puts himself in the right position. He made a couple tight catches that were very difficult to handle and hung on to them. He understands how to get open and has good spatial awareness. He gets better every week."

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on confidence going into playoffs with four straight wins) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It's good for us to put a few back-to-back. I know a quarter this year where we had gone 3-1, but not gone through a quarter yet where we were 4-0. That was something that was important to us. It was something that we had to do. We had no other choice. The guys did not succumb to the pressure. There was not a time during that four game stretch that I ever sensed they were in a panic because they had to get it done. They took it in stride. I think a lot of it has to do with our coaches working with their positions. Also, our veterans' leadership, they have had a wealth of experience and they know how to approach each and every game. They know it is going to go down to the wire and they do not panic.

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on playoff concerns) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I am concerned about everything. I think it's just the nature of coaching. We are going to play teams now that don't have a lot of penalties and teams that don't turn the ball over. They are going to be teams that run the ball (well). Those are teams you normally face in playoffs. So we are going to have to make certain that we stop the run and that we run the ball and well. Also make some teams turn the ball over. Those are the key things we are going to focus on. We also have to show off our kicking game. You name it I am concerned about it. We have to work on it and keep trying to get better.

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on going into the playoffs with a win verses a loss) Sunday, January 2, 2011

Getting in is your ultimate goal, regardless of how you get in. It always adds a little bit more momentum going in with a streak like we have been on. Right now were in a rhythm in terms of how we practice and those kinds of things. So it's good to be able to stay in that rhythm and particularly when things have been happing on a positive note for us.

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on mood in the locker room) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"They obviously happy, but fairly even-key. These guys, except for the young guys, have all been around for a bit. They have had some unique experiences, so they know they have a lot of work ahead of them. We met goal number one, to win our division.

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on winning the AFC South Division with all the challenges this year) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I marvel at the young guys courage and their ability to fight back. We have a lot of guys on the field who are playing for us and fighting injuries each and every week, it's a real challenge. I think we are blessed and fortunate to have an incredible team that is a testament to fortitude. It does make it special when you are around a bunch of guys that can fight through issues like the ones we've faced and still come out on top.

HEAD COACH JIM CALDWELL (on the "12th man") Sunday, January 2, 2011

"We have great fans here, not only because of the fact they support us and support us well, but they are also very knowledgeable. I do think without question they give us a boost out there with all the noise. Teams have to contend with that, it is a noisy place and it certainly does help us at times."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on winning the AFC South this year compared to previous years) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Having certainly a unique season so far, a lot of up and downs to the season, certainly that has been addressed all year. A lot of injuries. A lot of guys on injured reserve. It is a good example of perseverance and a different type of season than we have been through lately. It is just a credit to everybody, coaches and players for continuing to work and have a positive attitude and belief and just a good way to finish it off tonight in the regular season."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on play of the wide receivers) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I thought those guys made some critical plays at critical times. Reggie (Wayne) did a good job on his touchdown in the end zone. Pierre (Garcon), we had a couple chances early on a couple deep balls and couldn't quite connect. So it was good to get that third one to him. Like you said Blair (White), I think he had catches on all of those drives that setup touchdowns. It was good timing plays by all those guys."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on if the mounting injuries ever seemed like too much to overcome) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"At some point you wanted it to stop. You wanted to know that we could kind of play with this group. You knew that if you were going to continue to lose the guys that were in there that would really ruin any kind of flow or timing that you may have developed in practice or in games. I did say early on when it happened, and it definitely came true, I did think guys were going to improve during the course of the season due to game repetitions. (Jacob) Tamme got unbelievable experience. Blair White got unbelievable experience playing in the games. And Donald Brown. Those guys I thought continued to get better each week and you have to play games for that to happen. You hope you win games, but we certainly lost a lot of those games while we got that experience, but when it counted and we had to win, we won four in a row. I thought those guys showed progress and it is a credit to those guys for continuing to stay with it."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on Adam Vinatieri) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"He has been really solid down the stretch here. He has made a lot of kicks. We certainly feel like we want to be better in the red zone and don't like having to settle for field goals early in the game, but when called upon that is what he does. We certainly felt real good about that, but you don't take him for granted. I certainly don't. That was a clutch kick there at the end to win the game."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on the offensive struggles in the second half) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It is hard to put it on one thing. We will have to see the film. I thought there were a couple of chances to make some plays and we didn't quite make them. Just some missed opportunities. I think we will see on film that I think we were close. I think we can build on that. I certainly thought the plays were there and the potential was there to make the plays. Hopefully we can just make them next time. Something we can definitely learn from and I think coming out in the second half next week, it is important to come out of the blocks from the first half to the second trying to get some flow."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on ending the regular season with a win) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"You certainly hope you can build off that a little bit. There is no question this is a game that we wanted to win. I do believe in that (momentum). It is certainly how you played that week that matters, but it is a better feeling during the week. I do think your practices are better coming off a win. I have always felt that. So that is a positive thing, but everything is even starting next Saturday."

QB-PEYTON MANNING (on going to the playoffs 9 straight seasons) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Consistency would be a word there. There have been different players. There have been some players that have been here for all of those, but there have been different players. Consistency is doing your job every single week, every single year. I guess that is what you try to be, a consistent player, a consistent team. I think for the most part we have done that."

K-ADAM VINATIERI (on the game winning kick) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"They are never the same and you never take them lightly. Just happy to have the opportunity again to help our team win that game. It was a good win, an important win for us. Ups and downs in that game. Lots of craziness. I think probably the last five minutes was extremely crazy the way it turned out. But we will take it. Definitely take it."

K-ADAM VINATIERI (on kicking from that distance on the winning kick) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Forty-two, three yards, whatever it was, that is well within pretty much every kicker's range. Obviously the closer you get the easier the kicks becomes. There is no such thing as an easy game winner at any distance, but the way it came out, kind of running the time off the clock, it worked out pretty good. It was a comfortable distance kick."

K-ADAM VINATIERI (on the game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Divisional games are never easy. You play them twice a year. They know you pretty well so they are always tough games. Lot of ups and downs in this game, but we found a way to get it done. Defense really played well in that second half. In particular, kept them out of the end zone and off the scoreboard and kept us in the game where we were sputtering a little bit on offense. We found a way to get it done. 18 (Peyton Manning) always finds a way at the end to move the ball down there and give us a chance to win. Every win is important, but this one felt pretty good."

K-ADAM VINATIERI (on having a game winning kick) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"To have an opportunity to help the team win and put some points on the board to be able to walk off the field with a win is great. It felt great to be able to help the team out like that. It is a good feeling after you look up and it is going through the middle."

K-ADAM VINATIERI (on if his appreciation for Manning has grown based on this season) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Oh, absolutely. You can't say enough about Peyton (Manning). The injuries that we have had, everybody talks about them, but we try not to think about them. It is always the next man up and come on young guys fill in for the guys that have gotten hurt, but to watch the team continue to win and win the division and get ten wins and all that with the injuries and the loses that we have had has been pretty impressive in my mind. But nobody cares about who we got in and who we got left and whatever. It is about going out there and finding a way to win and that is the great thing. We have a lot of veteran leadership out there that is showing the young guys and the young guys you can't say enough about them. They done great, they have stepped in great and have done an awesome job. Whenever you can win the division and make the playoffs you never take that lightly for sure because it is difficult every single year and maybe a little more difficult this year."

K-ADAM VINATIERI (on what he thinks about before a game winning kick) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"You just try to think about the things that you can control. The implications of what the kick means and all that stuff, that doesn't move the ball right or left. You just go out there and concentrate on my job. I have to give props to the ten guys up in front of me. They have done a great job all year blocking for me and Justin (Snow) and Pat (McAfee) have done a great job of making my job easier too. I have all the confidence in the world in them. Then I know it just comes down to me putting the ball on line. Forty-three, inside, with no conditions, just put it online and it will go. I try to get rid of all the other external things that don't make any difference and just concentrate on the kick itself."

RB-JOSEPH ADDAI (on if the team was aware of the score of the Jacksonville vs. Houston game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I don't think so. The way Coach (Caldwell) put it during the whole week was just to take care of our business and we'll be all right. Me, myself, I didn't know the situation. I was just happy to be up because this was my second game back. I don't really think we knew what was going on or what was happening."

RB-JOSEPH ADDAI (on the team playing three running backs) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Over the course of the year, you've had RB-Donald (Brown), he was hurt a couple times, me, I was out for a couple weeks and RB-Dominic (Rhodes) just came back. You've got some people that haven't played. I think the three-back system, or however the coaches want to go about it, I think all of us are ready for that. We've been doing a good job of that. I don't know how it is going to go in the playoffs, but I think whoever they call on we'll all be ready."

RB-JOSEPH ADDAI (on the teams exchanging fumbles at the end of the game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"That was a strange ending. That's one of those endings you'll tell your kids (about) when you get older. It was strange. Everybody was still behind Dom when the ball came out. We were able to go back and put some points on the board."

RB-JOSEPH ADDAI (on facing the New York Jets next week) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"They come here? See how much I know? I'm happy that we don't have to play in the cold. I'm from the cold, so it hurts me to get hit. Honestly, you just saying that did something for me. I didn't know we were playing here. Regardless, the record is 0-0 whoever we are playing. We've got a fresh start. The regular season is over. We've got post-season now."

RB-JOSEPH ADDAI (on what the team has proven in the past month) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I think we came together as a team. That's the big thing. We were able to step up and just keep on trying to win games. We were able to do that and control whatever we could control. Tough times, we come together. Tough times, we really do come together as a team, as a unit. Everybody starts trying to help each other out and everybody starts doing a little bit more. We weren't winning games, had a lot of injuries, so you had backups doing a great job coming in and doing whatever they had to do."

WR-REGGIE WAYNE (on people thinking the team was done when their record was 6-6) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Check us out, that's all I can say. We've always had the naysayers. All we can do is go out and play Colts football and do the things we are supposed to do. It was tough on us early in the year, but we found a way to prevail and move forward and now we're going to the playoffs."

WR-REGGIE WAYNE (on if there is something more gratifying about going to the playoffs this year with all that the team has gone through) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It's all the same. They all are going to be tough. I've been in the playoffs nine years. I'm just thankful that we were able to get in. It was a little tough, we had to go through some adversity, but we found a way to get in. Hopefully, we can find a way to push forward. They are all the same. No matter how you get in, as long as you get in. We're thankful we were able to take care of our first goal and that's win our division. We were able to do that, so now we're in, everybody has the same score, same record. It's new football now. "

WR-REGGIE WAYNE (on if he did any scoreboard looking today) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I'm a scoreboard looker anyway, just to see who finishes up strong, seeing what guys from the University of Miami scored. The way I'm positioned on the bench, I'm looking at the jumbotron anyway, and they had the scoreboard in that corner. A few times I kind of glanced over there and took a peak at it. We knew if we just took care of business here, the rest didn't matter."

WR-REGGIE WAYNE (on what went through his mind when RB-Dominic Rhodes fumbled the ball) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I hope we get a fumble back. That's the way it goes. He puts everything into it. He plays so hard. It kind of went against him right there, but the defense was able to go out and make a play and get us the ball back."

WR-PIERRE GARCON (on not wanting to go into the playoffs with a loss) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It was very important. We stuck together throughout the whole game. We didn't let down at all. We knew they were going to come out tough and play us tough, but we stuck through it and made a play when we needed it. Going into the playoffs with a win is very important, and we needed that."

WR-PIERRE GARCON (on does the preparation change now) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It stays the same. It just means a lot more. One game and you could be out of it. You need to win and keep going."

TE-JACOB TAMME (on making the playoffs) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I just feel really grateful to be apart of a team like this, be apart of this offense and play with these guys. I've loved every second of it. It hasn't always been perfect. It hasn't always been pretty. We had a streak there where we weren't always playing our best ball. Now we're on a little bit of a winning streak, and we're headed in the right direction. Still have plenty of stuff to work on, but I've had a lot of fun."

TE-JACOB TAMME (on the ending of the game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It was (a crazy ending). Our defense did what they've been doing the last several weeks, just making big plays. They got us the ball back there. We felt real confident that we could move it, and we moved it just enough and got Vinny (K-Adam Vinatieri) set up. That's all you can ask for."

TE-JACOB TAMME (on if he was aware of what was going on in the Jacksonville vs. Houston game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I saw it on the scoreboard that they were down, but really was not even trying to look. It really didn't have anything to do with what we were doing and the way we were playing. We just wanted to keep playing the way we've been playing, keep making plays, keep doing good things. You've got to give a lot of credit to Tennessee's defense. They really played hard. We made just enough plays. It was a good finish."

TE-JACOB TAMME (on facing the New York Jets in the playoffs) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"They are a really good football team. It will be a good week of preparation. They have a good defense. Really different from anybody else in the league. There are a lot of defenses that play aggressive, and I know they are one of them. It will be a fun week of preparation. We'll come out Saturday night and lay it all out there."

OT-CHARLIE JOHNSON (on how it feels to put the AFC South championship hat on) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It feels great especially after the year that we had. Losing so many guys and kind of going on that losing streak during the middle of the year and having people saying we were finished and we weren't going to make the playoffs. For us to come out and finish like this and win the division is a great feeling."

OT-CHARLIE JOHNSON (on the dramatic ending to the game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"We assumed that was the kind of game that we were going to get from them. They always play us hard and you have to give them credit. They didn't quit and they stayed in there and battled with us. We were fortunate enough to come out on top."

OT-CHARLIE JOHNSON (on these last four weeks going from 6-6 to 10-6) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"That's just this team. Ever since I've been here we don't listen to other people, we stay within ourselves, and we keep working and going. I can't say enough about this team that we were just able to grind like that and stay with it."

OT-CHARLIE JOHNSON (on how impressive the 2010 division title is with all the injuries during the season) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"For me, I think it is. It might be the best one for me. So far this is five for five for me. Not even so much the injuries itself but who we have lost. A lot of starters are banged up or on IR and for all these younger guys to come in and there not be much of a drop off is really a credit to them."

OT-CHARLIE JOHNSON (on where this team is going into the playoffs) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"That's the thing about this team is that we always feel we can work and get better. If we kind of play together and our defense keeps playing like that and we are able offensively to keep the ball and move it than I think we will be okay."

OT-CHARLIE JOHNSON (on Peyton Manning throwing the most passes in his career this year and how much the offense had to lean on him) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"We weren't able to move the ball running it as effectively as we wanted to earlier in the year. But a lot of that was because we were behind in a lot of games to start out with. You can't give him (Manning) enough credit for sticking with it even through his little slump or whatever you want to call it, just fighting and keep playing."

OT-CHARLIE JOHNSON (on playing the New York Jets in the Wild Card round) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"We just look at it as it doesn't really matter who is coming in. We got our goal accomplished today. We got in the dance and we won the division which was our goal."

C-JEFF SATURDAY (on playing an AFC South opponent in the Titans) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Everybody knows everything and there are no surprises. We didn't execute necessarily as well as we wanted to in some situations. They got us off the field on some third downs where we needed to move the ball and keep the ball moving. Overall, we fought for 59 minutes and 56 seconds. You battle the whole way and everybody on the team kept going and kept putting fourth the effort."

C-JEFF SATURDAY (on where the 2010 AFC South title ranks among the other ones) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"We have been banged up a lot. To overcome much of the adversity that we battled through, guys were fighting. Whichever guys that come up and have to play are playing well and this is a great team right now. I am excited to be apart of it and its fun to win to get in the playoffs on the last seconds of the game.

C-JEFF SATURDAY (on his thoughts on the New York Jets) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I am just happy to be in right now. We will start looking at them tomorrow. For the next three or four hours I am going to enjoy this one and then we will start getting ready for the Jets. They are a great football team and we know they are going to come in and play some hard nosed football. We just have to find a way to win."

C-JEFF SATURDAY (on if he knew the Jaguars score during the game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I did not. It didn't really make any difference to us. We talked about it all week and it's about what we wanted to do and that is to win games and keep advancing. Whatever happened to Jacksonville or didn't happen to them was irrelevant."

LB-GRAY BRACKETT (on winning the AFC South and how gratifying it was with all the injuries) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"Obviously, this was our first goal and we got it done. I think so just because we found so many different ways to win and so many guys stepped up to contribute to the success. Now, we are looking forward to next week."

LB-GRAY BRACKETT (on if he thought winning the division was possible after being 6-6) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I did. There have been games when we have run off 14 in a row so I know we can get hot. That's what we needed to do and that's what we got done."

LB-GRAY BRACKETT (on if the team was watching the score of the Houston/Jacksonville game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"No, we weren't really concerned about them. I think we controlled our own destiny. I think guys stayed in our game and were focused."

LB-GRAY BRACKETT (on what he learned about the 2010 Colts) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I think we can win a lot of ways. Never count us out. I think when we were 6-6; people were saying the Colts are done. We have always said it all year that we define ourselves and we proved that today."

LB-GRAY BRACKETT (on how far this team has come from 6-6 to now) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I think a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Working out with the young guys and bringing those guys up to speed. They came in. Pat Angerer and Kavell (Conner), Tyjuan (Hagler) guys stepped up big. We need that going forward."

DB-ANTOINE BETHEA (on if the 2010 season means more than all the other division titles with all the injuries) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I can tell you that once February comes. Right now we still have a job to do. We have to go in the playoffs and get these wins. We are trying to get to the Super Bowl and get another ring. Obviously, it feels good. We made some goals at the beginning of the year and the first goal was to win our division and that feels good. We still have some work to do."

DB-ANTOINE BETHEA (on what the team thought after being 6-6 four weeks ago) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"We never doubted ourselves. Coach Caldwell showed us the standings and said if we win the rest of the games it's in our hands and we will be in the playoffs. We took it one game at a time and we are here now getting ready for the playoffs."

DB-ANTOINE BETHEA (on if he looked at the score of the Houston/Jacksonville game during the game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I'm not allowed to say if I did. Coach Caldwell told us not to focus on that we just have to control what we are doing in here. We got the win so regardless we won the division."

DB-ANTOINE BETHEA (on how heavy his legs were during the field goal return) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"They were heavy. That monkey jumped on my back. I was trying to reach the end zone but my legs have never felt that heavy. It's something that we can laugh at right now but at that time it was no laughing matter."

DB-ANTOINE BETHEA (on how different the vibe would have been if the Colts had lost this game) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It is a much better vibe. Making the playoffs on somebody else behalf and we losing wouldn't have really felt the same. The way the game ended out with AV (Adam Vinatieri) kicking the winning field goal and the way we won as a team feels better. We still are riding that high of winning the last four games heading into the playoffs.

DE-DWIGHT FREENEY (on if the 2010 division title is more sweeter than the others due to the all injuries) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I guess you would say that but we don't play for just division championships. I mean that is not why we play. For us, that is one of our goals and we accomplished that goal but we still have a lot more to accomplish. We did a good job of winning today and we worry about the Jets tomorrow."

DE-DWIGHT FREENEY (on what the Colts proved over the last four weeks) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It just proves to you that it doesn't matter what people say outside. It is about the guys in the locker room and the guys coming together playing football."

DE-DWIGHT FREENEY (on what the Colts locker room has been like the past few weeks) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It has pretty much been consistent. No panic mode. It is just like listen we have to win these games. It doesn't change week to week for us. It's always we have to win these games."

DE-DWIGHT FREENEY (on what the Colts learned about themselves this season) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"I guess maybe we are going to keep fighting. But it's not like we learned that because we know that is the type of team we have. Maybe someone else learned that about us but we understand what type of team we are. It doesn't matter who is out there we have to get the next guy up and take that mentality first."

DE-DWIGHT FREENEY (on how many AFC South Championships hats he has) Sunday, January 2, 2011

"It is an accomplishment, yes. I guess when you look back on it, it is great but around here that is not what we play for. We knew what we fought for this one. We will reflect on this one at the end of the year, whenever that happens, but our job is far from being done and we are not happy with where we are at yet. We have to continue to keep winning. That is our mentality and that doesn't change."
