8-2 Player Quotes

DL-Fili Moala (on the difference between this year and last) “More than anything it was to mentally prepare myself. When you play football this long, football is football and the differences are minor.

DL-Fili Moala (on the difference between this year and last)

"More than anything it was to mentally prepare myself. When you play football this long, football is football and the differences are minor. The mental difference was what the biggest difficulty for me was.  I came in here mentally prepared and physically prepared as well. It is about learning how to be a pro, and that can be very difficult. The amount of film I've watched compared to the amount of film I need to watch is night and day."

DE-Dwight Freeney (on conditioning and health)

"I feel like I am in real good shape right now and everything is fine. I know this, this is the best I'm going to feel. It (ankle) is feeling good. They (the organization) get to pick (which practice to participate in). It (ankle) is not an issue at all."

DE-Dwight Freeney (on Bob Sanders' return)

"It was definitely good to see Bob out there. We are all rooting for him and I know he will be fine. He brings that X-factor out there with how he plays the game. I know receivers and running backs will be a little more cautious."

RB- Joe Addai (on preparation for this season)

"I think it started way back in the offseason. Lifting weights, conditioning, running and practice all kind of count. I'm just coming in and helping out the team. Really, really just trying to go out there and be positive. If I can come out and continue to do what I've been doing, I think I will be all right."

RB- Joe Addai (on running back situation)

"It gives us a whole lot of motivation because all we can do is go up. We just need to start slow and work our way up. I am always motivated and am trying to build up for the Super Bowl. That is my goal, to keep on and be consistent."

RB- Joe Addai (on preparation for this season)

"Every bad situation you learn from and we have put that behind us. I need to go back and learn from my mistakes and go from there."

DB- Deshea Townsend (on being a Colt)

"It is always great to be wanted. Coach Caldwell and Mr. Polian both laid it out that there are some young guys here that need some experience. Getting the opportunity to come and play the game that you love is what I'm all about. Also, sharing experience with these young guys. It's is important to care about your defense and run it right."

WR- Reggie Wayne (on coming to camp)

"The most important thing is that I'm here and if I'm here there isn't no half-stepping. I am here to work hard and do the things I've been doing and that is playing football."

DB- Bob Sanders (on the first day of camp)

"The only thing that was important is that I was here today and I was ready. It was good and felt good. I moved around and I am excited. It was a great feeling. I felt normal and you would think that I would come in eager and be kind of anxious and off my game, but it felt normal and really good to be back in the groove."

DB- Bob Sanders (on competing at camp)

"I think that there are guys who have really proved themselves and have done a great job stepping in my place being out. Last year was a great year. It did not end the way they wanted it to but the guys did a great things.  I'm excited to be back on the team. There is a position I'm still fighting for and I have got to keep on working. Melvin did a great job in the last year proving he can play. I just want to make sure I can keep healthy and stay on the field. I am as healthy as I have been in a long time.  It was kind of weird that they said my career was almost over."

DB- Bob Sanders (on Peyton Manning getting better every year)

"A great work ethic and he is consistently trying to get better. You can only expect that from a guy like Peyton. He is going to do everything in his willpower to get better, and he has always done that."

TE-Dallas Clark (on: Reggie Wayne wanting to show up to camp) Monday, August 02, 2010

"It shows the character of what kind of person he is and what he thinks about this team. It's great to have him here. You see a lot of guys around the league holding out and different things like that and use holding out as leverage. Every person is different, and it is great to see Reggie (Wayne) take the high road of the situation, to be here for the betterment of this team and him getting better and want to prove himself. So it is great to have him here."

TE-Dallas Clark (on: today's practice) Monday, August 02, 2010

"It was a great day. It was a beautiful day. It was a great crowd. Today is going to be a challenge throwing the pads on for the first time, so it's good. It has been a great atmosphere. A lot of guys are hungry and ready to go, and it is starting off great. I couldn't be happier with everyone's excitement and everyone flying around and making plays."

TE-Dallas Clark (on: the strength of the receiving corps) Monday, August 02, 2010

"It's got to be the best in the league. There are a lot of guys that can make a lot of big plays at any point. There are a lot of good threats and everyone has a different tangible that they bring. Especially the young guys with the experience last year, it's only going to make them better. Having that experience underneath them and then them coming back just a little fresher and their heads aren't spinning trying to learn all this stuff, so it is coming to them a little easier, so then they can just go out there and react and not think so much. It is an exciting group, and you have to go out there and prove yourself. On paper they look good, but like anything else you have to go out and prove it, and those guys are ready to do that."

TE-Dallas Clark (on: the thought about being back at camp) Monday, August 02, 2010

"I am excited to get back, it feels great. I love camp, I love everything about it. It is so much fun being around the guys again. It has been a few months since we have all been together as a group, so it's fantastic to get this and be isolated from our surroundings and really get together. It is the part of football you won't forget. You'll forget games, you'll forget touchdowns and things like that, but you don't forget the moments of the things that happen in between practices and meetings it is a lot of fun."

TE-Dallas Clark (on: Bob Sanders returning back after his injury) Monday, August 02, 2010

"It's beautiful. That guy has gone through a lot of things, and it is just great to see him keep fighting through them and the adversities of his injuries here and there. It's just great to see him keep battling and trying to fighting to get back. When he is on the field he is something special. It is great to have him back."
