on the morning's practice) Training Camp

"We had a chance to watch the tape with the team this morning after the coaches watched it yesterday. The disappointing thing was that our first group didn't really make the improvement we were looking for. I thought our second group, in a lot of cases, did. We had some individual performances out of the young guys that we can build on. We've got to play better and more consistently all the way around.

"One of the high points, I thought, was our special teams play, which is something we've emphasized. For the second week in a row I thought we did a good job kicking and covering. (K) Adam (Vinatieri) and (P) Hunter (Smith) have taken it on themselves to make sure we are getting good kicks to cover and our guys are running hard. T.J. Rushing again had a good day on the return unit, so we have some things to build on. The disappointing thing was not controlling the line of scrimmage better with our offense and defense with the first group."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on TE Jacob Tamme's performance vs. Carolina) Training Camp

"Jacob, like (RB) Mike Hart, did a lot of things that we'd seen him do in college, things that we expected him to do and things that he'd been doing in practice. He got an opportunity to catch the ball and felt comfortable out there, I think, for the first time. He showed what he is capable of doing in the passing game."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if he dreads OT in the pre season) Training Camp

"I think (Carolina coach) John Fox was the same as me, in that we were playing to avoid overtime. We were trying to win the game in regulation, and then when you get into overtime you are trying to win it as fast as you can. Both of us probably made some decisions you wouldn't normally make in a regular-season game, but it is what it is and I thought our guys played hard. Both sides wanted to win, and you can't tell the guys that are out there 'Hey, don't try and win the game.'  So I was fine with it."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on if having mobile QBs Quinn Gray and Jared Lorenzen brings a different dimension to the offense) Training Camp

"It does. It helps you. Those guys, in the first two games, have made plays getting out of the pocket and made long runs when people are playing man coverage. Since I have been here, not many of our guys have been that way, and it does, it gives you an extra threat that you have to defend."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the return of previously injured players) Training Camp

"We have some guys that should be able to get back before the week is out. (LB) Clint Session got back (Monday), (DE) Jeff Charleston is back, and (WR) Pierre (Garcon) may be able to do some things. Slowly but surely we are getting some guys healthy."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on how the team is progressing) Training Camp

"I think we have done well enough in practice. I think our young guys, especially, are making great progress. We've got to be a little more consistent with our first group. We didn't play as good of a second game as we did a first game, but I think we are coming along OK."

HEAD COACH TONY DUNGY (on the team's excitement preparing to play the first game at Lucas Oil Stadium on Aug. 24) Training Camp

"I think that is going to be special for us. We are trying to put that off as much as we can. We've got a nice, long week to practice for Atlanta and do some fundamental work during our last week at camp, but I think next week you'll see that excitement for breaking camp, number one, and playing a home game number two."
