The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints will meet on Sunday Night Football at the newly named Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Game time is slated at 8:20 p.m. The match-up between the two teams is the first since Super Bowl XLIV at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida. The Saints claimed a 31-17 victory in the championship game, however, the Colts have won the last two regular season contests (2003 & 2007) by a combined 96-31 margin.Indianapolis will be looking to even the all-time series (including playoffs) between the two teams as New Orleans currently holds a 6-5 advantage dating back to 1967.
In a Week 6 meeting against Cincinnati, the Colts erased a 20-7 fourth quarter deficit, but a late Bengals touchdown put the game out of reach as Indianapolis fell by a 27-17 margin at Paul Brown Stadium. Curtis Painter completed 23 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown while wide receiver Reggie Wayne led the team with 58 receiving yards. The Saints (4-2) lost their second game of the season, 26-20, against Tampa Bay. Drew Brees threw for 383 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the losing effort.
The Colts will conclude their three-game road stretch with a Week 8 meeting against AFC South Division rival, Tennessee, in Nashville.
