Pittsburgh missed a field goal in the only scoring chance of the quarter. Indianapolis leads heading into the final quarter, 13-10.
SECOND QUARTER UPDATE
Indianapolis produced a takeaway on a third straight possession with an interception by DB-Joe Lefeged. Lefeged returned the interception 25 yards to give the Colts possession at the Pittsburgh 12. Vinatieri hit a 25-yard attempt to close scoring in the half.
DE-Jamaal Anderson scored on a 47-yard fumble return off a sack by DE-Dwight Freeney of Pittsburgh QB-Ben Roethlisberger. Indianapolis tied the game, 10-10, with their points coming off takeaways. It was an 11-yard sack by Freeney.
DE-Robert Mathis had a sack-fumble-recovery at mid-field on third down to stop a Steelers drive in a 10-0 game. The Colts used the drive to cut the margin to 10-3 on a 21-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri.
