I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July. I know I did. I spent the weekend back at school preparing my apartment for the arrival of the two coolest couches on the planet. Also, I assembled my new kitchen table. I was very impressed by my handy work, until I was informed I was doing it all wrong. Turns out it helps to read the directions when putting chairs together.
Yesterday we traveled to Nappanee for our fourteenth MIP tour stop. I know, I can't believe we only have two left. And you know when you are in the car driving for a long time and you listen to the same radio station, and you can almost guess the next song coming on because the station just repeats the same twenty songs. Well thankfully that was avoided yesterday. I brought my movie collection and we watched Office Space in the Suburban. Out of all my great ideas this summer, that might have been the best.
At the stop yesterday it was rather warm. It was so warm that the tar in the parking lot was actually melting and sticking to the bottom of your shoes. At the stop, I met a little boy named Peyton and his dog Manning. Alison and I thought that was rather genius.
Also at the stop, Liz and I were amazed by the fact that it has been such a wet summer that it has not rained during a MIP tour stop. That fact remained true; however, like normal we encountered some bad weather on the way home. At one point it was raining so hard that we almost had to pull over, but with Pat's expertise behind the wheel we made it back safely.
Tomorrow we are headed to Jay Community College in Portland for our second to last MIP stop from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Also, on Friday we will be in Martinsville for an extra Fan Fest to help raise money for flood victims.
Make sure to come out and meet some Colts players and cheerleaders and most importantly the interns.
And like always, feel free to email me at MIP@colts.nfl.net if you have any questions, comments or fan mail!
