Yesterday, the MIP crew ventured out to Meijer in Kokomo. Once again, the Indiana Blood Center was there with the Bleed Blue Blood Drive, but this time it was different. I decided today was the day that I would give blood on tour. I usually try to give blood whenever possible, even though it never goes very well. As my friend Lora can tell you, something always goes wrong and it takes forever for me to give blood.
Thankfully, yesterday was different, and I dominated giving blood. It took less than four minutes for me to donate a pint of blood, and not to toot my own horn, but I think it was a record pace. Not only was I able to help save a life but I got cookies, crackers and even a Gatorade.
Also at the tour stop, the group tried really hard to get kids to sign up for the Colts Kids Club (Colts Kids Club is quiet possibly the coolest club a kid can join). Pat even went so far as to even wear a (child's size) Kids Club t-shirt around the tour stop for awhile.
One last thing to mention before I depart, the Indianapolis Colts Fan Fests start next Friday in Anderson (everyone should come to the first one in Anderson). Not only will there be autograph sessions with the players and cheerleaders, there will be a free concert by Jon McLaughlin (If you don't know who he is check out "Beautiful Disaster", it is amazing!!!). We will be making seven stops around Indiana and northern Kentucky. For more information about Fan Fest you can visit www.Colts.com/FanFest.
I hope everyone can make it out to the next Make It Personal tour stop on Tuesday, June 3rd in Sellersburg from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Silver Creek Middle School.
And like always, feel free to email me at MIP@colts.nfl.net if you have any questions, comments or fan mail!
