INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts are proud to announce Sophia Pruitt as the final honoree of the 2017 Colts Anthem Angels program, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Pruitt, a local resident of Indianapolis, IN, will be recognized at the Colts home game this Sunday, December 31, 2017.
At just 15 years old Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School freshman, Sophia Pruitt, has become an advocate for the animals of Indianapolis. To date, she has raised $19,000 for the Humane Society of Indianapolis and has fostered more than 50 pets.
Pruitt became interested in fundraising after attending her friends' "fundraising parties" on their birthdays. At these "fundraising parties," Pruitt's friends asked for donations to food drives or charities instead of birthday presents.
"I've always kind of been obsessed with animals," said Pruitt. "I knew that if I was going to start fundraising I would want it to be something that I was passionate about and for me that was definitely animals."
Pruitt began fundraising for the Humane Society of Indianapolis by setting up a simple lemonade and dog treat stand. When she was eight years old, she began hosting "fundraising parties" on her birthday and when she was nine years old, she asked to be a Humane Society foster family for Christmas.
"It was an eye opener for me to keep pushing forward [with fundraising]," said Pruitt.
For her dedication to the Humane Society and to the animals of Indianapolis, we want to congratulate Sophia Pruitt as this week's Anthem Angel.
Pruitt will receive four (4) VIP Club Seat Tickets to the Colts game, a feature story with her photo in the Colts gameday magazine (the Scout) and on www.colts.com, as well as on-field recognition at the game.
