INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts have added some speed to the wide receiver position.
The team today announced it has acquired wide receiver Marcus Johnson in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for tight end Darrell Daniels.
Johnson — who stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 204 pounds — went undrafted last year out of Texas, and was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles. In 10 games during his rookie season, he logged five receptions for 45 yards.
Johnson was part of trade on March 14 that sent him from the Eagles to the Seattle Seahawks. He logged three receptions for 44 yards (14.7 average) with the Seahawks this preseason.
Johnson appeared in 42 games with 18 starts for the Texas Longhorns, finishing his career with 61 catches for 793 yards (13.0 average) and four touchdowns. At his Pro Day at Texas in March 2016, he ran a 4.39 40-yard dash.
Daniels was signed by the Colts in May 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of Washington. He competed in 12 games his rookie season in Indy, starting three, and caught three passes for 26 yards. He also contributed three special teams tackles.
Daniels caught three passes for 54 yards (18.0 average) for the Colts this preseason.
