Career Transactions:

• Traded from the New York Jets along with a seventh round 2012 NFL Draft pick (214^th overall) to the Colts for a sixth round 2012 NFL Draft selection (187^th overall) on March 23, 2012.
• Signed by the Jets as an unrestricted free agent on March 16, 2012.
• Originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round (43^rd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.

2011 (LIONS):

• Was a reserve quarterback for the Lions and was listed as inactive for all 16 contests.

2010 (LIONS):

• Competed in six games (three starts) for Detroit and completed 69-of-119 passes for 780 yards, four touchdowns, three interceptions and a 78.4 passer rating.
• Entered the game as a reserve and threw for 222 passing yards and one touchdown, an 87-yard connection with wide receiver Calvin Johnson at the New York Giants (10/17). The pass was a career-long and the longest play from scrimmage for the Lions. Also established career highs in attempts (34), completions (19), yards (222), rushing yards (30) and rushing long (20).
• Made his second career start and threw for 178 yards on 16-of-24 passing against Chicago (12/5). Tossed one touchdown to wide receiver Calvin Johnson and rushed for another score as he registered a career-high passer rating of 102.4. Became the first quarterback to record a passer rating of 102.0 in their first or second start with a team since quarterback Gus Frerotte (110.5) accomplished the feat in his first start at Arizona (11/14/99).
• Threw the game-winning touchdown pass (13 yards) to tight end Will Heller against Green Bay (12/12) while finishing the contest having completed 10-of-22 passes and rushing for 44 yards.
• Set career highs in pass attempts (37), completions (23) and passing yards (252) and tied a career-high with one passing touchdown in an overtime win at Tampa Bay (12/19).

2009 (LIONS):

• With the Lions, competed in three games (one start) and completed 26-of-51 passes for 259 yards and six interceptions.
• Made his first career NFL start at San Francisco (12/27) and completed 11-of-21 passes for 130 yards.

2008 (LIONS):

• Saw action in three games with Detroit as a reserve quarterback and completed nine-of-17 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown for a 95.0 passer rating.
• Threw his first career touchdown pass in his NFL debut against Jacksonville (11/9) while contributing with 94 passing yards.

2007 (LIONS):

• Was selected by the Lions in the second round of the NFL draft and was placed on Injured Reserve prior to the start of the regular season with a knee injury.

College:

• Ranks second in Michigan State history with 543-of-846 passes for 6,524 yards, fifth with 42 touchdowns and ninth with 28 interceptions.
• Carried the ball 322 times for 1,512 yards and 15 touchdowns.
• His 1,512 rushing yards are second-most ever by a Spartans quarterback.
• Gained 8,036 yards in total offense, ranking second on MSU’s all-time record list.
• As a senior, started the first 11 games and completed 164-of-269 passes for 1,807 yards and 12 touchdowns.
• Earned All-Big Ten honorable mention honors from the league’s coaches as a junior.
• Was an honorable mention All-Big Ten choice in 2004 as well as earning the Governor’s Award as the team’s MVP.
• Earned Academic All-America honors in 2005 and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten Conference team on three occasions.

Personal:

• Attended Harrison High School in Farmington Hills, Mich. and earned SuperPrep, PrepStar and Max Emfinger All-America honors as a senior.
• Was named to the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press Dream teams.
• A two-year starter who completed 234-of-357 passes for 5,293 yards, 58 touchdowns and nine interceptions while leading his team to back-to-back state titles in 2000 and 2001.
• Threw for 2,822 yards and 31 touchdowns as a senior, as his passing yardage and touchdowns marked the fifth-best single-season totals in state history.
• Also lettered in baseball as a shortstop and pitcher, batting .561 as a junior.
