Ryan Podell enters his first season as the sports science/conditioning coach for the Colts. Podell was most recently a sports scientist with the Portland Trail Blazers for two seasons where he was responsible for collecting and managing all training information and data to create more efficient ways to develop players. Prior to his work with the Trail Blazers, he spent six seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers where he led efforts to become the first NHL team to utilize on-ice GPS tracking technology. Podell began his professional career as an intern with the Colts in 2009. He also worked in various roles with the University of Notre Dame football program and at Cooper Speed and Strength in Tampa, Fla. He earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science and his master's in sports performance from Ball State University, where he served two years as the graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for the school's Olympic sports. He is RKC, USATF Level 1, CSCS and USAW certified. Podell and his wife, Katelynne, have one child, Lukka. He is originally from Crawfordsville, Ind.
