Signed as FA with Colts on September 16, 2006…originally was D4a-04 choice of Tennessee, the 103rd choice overall…was waived on September 3, 2006…was claimed off waivers by Colts from Tennessee on September 4, 2006…was waived on September 9, 2006…signed to Colts practice squad on September 13, 2006.

CAREER NOTES

2006:  Appeared in 14 games as reserve DE and special teams player after signing as FA 9/13…was inactive at Denver 10/29…had 21 tackles, 15 solo, 0.5 sacks (five yards) and one QB pressure…also had eight special teams tackles, seven solo…had five tackles and 0.5 sack vs. Houston 9/17…had three solo stops vs. Jacksonville 9/24…had two stops vs. Philadelphia 11/26 and at Tennessee 12/3…had three solo stops at Jacksonville 12/10 and four tackles, three solo, at Houston 12/24…had three solo special teams stops at Tennessee…had two specialty stops vs. Jacksonville and at Houston for other top totals.  POST-SEASON:  Appeared in two games as reserve DE and special teamer…saw action vs. Kansas City in Wild Card Playoffs 1/6 and vs. Chicago in Super Bowl XLI 2/4…was inactive at Baltimore in Divisional Playoffs 1/13 and was active but did not play vs. New England in AFC Championship Game 1/21…had one tackle and 0.5 sack vs. Kansas City.  2005:  Appeared in eight games as reserve DE for Tennessee…saw action at St. Louis 9/25, vs. Indianapolis 10/2, at Arizona 10/23, vs. Oakland 10/30, at Cleveland 11/6, vs. Jacksonville 11/20, at Indianapolis 12/4 and at Jacksonville 1/1…was inactive for eight games…had eleven stops, seven solo, one sack and two FF…also had two special teams stops…had seasonal-high four tackles, one sack and two FF in season finale at Jacksonville.  2004:  Started season on Physically Unable to Perform List due to foot injury…started two of five games after return…started vs. Kansas City 12/13 and at Oakland 12/19…had 15 stops, 10 solo…had five stops at Indianapolis 12/5 in first career game…also returned squibbed kickoff 12 yards…had four stops at Oakland and vs. Detroit 1/2.

Three-year letterman who started 26 of 36 career games…had 147 tackles, 28.5 sacks, 51 stops for losses, four FF, four FR and four passes defensed…started 13 games as senior and had 61 tackles, 17 sacks, 27 stops for losses, three FF, two FR and three passes defensed…17 sacks set school record and ranked fifth in nation…was second-team All-America by The NFL Draft Report and Associated Press, first-team All-Conference USA choice and was one of six finalists for the Hendricks Award, given to nation’s top DE…started 12 games as junior and had 57 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 19 stops for losses, one FF, two FR and one pass defensed…was first-team all-conference…started season opener and had three stops at Nebraska as sophomore, but missed remainder of season with knee injury…appeared in 10 games as reserve DE as redshirt freshman…had 20 tackles, four sacks and five stops for losses…holds degree in secondary education.

Full name is Bo Schobel…born in Columbus, Texas…attended Columbus High School…earned State Top 100 honors from Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Houston Chronicle…was first-team all-state choice…led team in tackles and catches as junior and senior…was named district 20-3A Defensive MVP and first-team punter as senior…also earned all-district honors in baseball and track…was state finalist in discus...Schobel and his wife, Lyndsay, reside with their son, Dayne (6/23/00), and daughter, Lainey (6/20/05), in Columbus, Texas.
