STATEMENT FROM THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Adam Vinatieri underwent a surgical procedure late this week to relieve nagging discomfort in his right hip. This condition, which had existed for more than a year, became more bothersome recently. After consultation with our doctors and others, the surgical procedure was deemed the most effective course of action at this time.
The surgery was performed in Vail, Colorado by Dr. Marc Phillipon. Dr. Phillipon (who recently operated on Alex Rodriquez of the N.Y. Yankees) believes that this procedure will not effect Adam's availability this season.
