GAME RELEASE: COLTS VS. CHIEFS

Posted Dec 18, 2012

Colts go for playoff berth in Kansas City.

The Colts (9-5) will play their fifth road game in the last seven weeks when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs (2-12) at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is slated or 1 p.m. EST.

As was the case last week, the Colts are in need of one win to clinch a Wild Card spot in the postseason. With a victory this weekend, Indianapolis would also record its 12th 10-win season in the last 14 years.

Last week, the Colts snapped a three-game winning streak by falling to the Houston Texans, 29-17. A fumble at the Houston one-yard line and a blocked punt returned for a Texans touchdown proved to be too much to overcome in the game. RB-Vick Ballard recorded his first 100-yard rushing performance of the season, finishing the day with 105 yards on the ground. QB-Andrew Luck threw two touchdowns and no interceptions for a 95.6 quarterback rating, his third-highest mark of the season. On defense, OLB-Dwight Freeney, OLB-Robert Mathis and S-Antoine Bethea all recorded sacks against Texans QB-Matt Schaub.

The Chiefs are coming off a 15-0 loss to the Oakland Raiders last week. RB-Jamaal Charles was held to just 10 rushing yards and 18 receiving yards on the day. QB-Brady Quinn finished the game 18-of-32 for 136 yards and an interception for a 53.6 rating. For the season, the Chiefs hold the seventh-ranked pass defense in the league, giving up only 215.6 passing yards per game.
