What to Look for in Week 12

WHAT TO LOOK FOR – WEEK 12

WILD, WILD WEST: The DENVER BRONCOS and KANSAS CITY CHIEFS are each 9-1 and tied atop the AFC West. If both teams win this Sunday, it would mark the first time in 65 years (1948) that two teams in the same division won 10 of their first 11 games.

In 1948, the Chicago Cardinals and Chicago Bears, then members of the NFL’s Western Division, each started 10-1. The Cardinals finished 11-1 before losing the 1948 NFL Championship game by a score of 7-0 to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bears (10-2) finished second in the Western Division.

-- NFL --

RESILIENT GIANTS: The NEW YORK GIANTS (4-6) have won four consecutive games and are now just a game-and-a-half out of first place in the NFC East.

With a win against Dallas on Sunday, the Giants can become only the second team in NFL history to lose its first six games and win its next five games (Tennessee in 2009). The 2009 Tennessee Titans started 0-6 and then won five in a row, finishing the season with an 8-8 record.

-- NFL --

PERFECT 10: Denver quarterback PEYTON MANNING and the Broncos are tied for the AFC’s best record at 9-1 with Kansas City.

With a win against New England on Sunday Night Football, Manning (12) can extend his NFL record for the most seasons with at least 10 wins by a quarterback in NFL history.

Additionally, New England quarterback TOM BRADY (10) and the Patriots are 7-3 and with three more wins this season, Brady would surpass BRETT FAVRE (10) for the second-most such seasons.
