Video Highlights: Eric Ebron

The Indianapolis Colts on Monday evening announced the signing of free agent tight end Eric Ebron. What does Ebron bring to the table for the Colts’ offense?

INDIANAPOLIS — “People ask me to compare him to Vernon Davis. He's not as quick or as twitchy as Davis, but he's a better athlete with better hands. Everything this kid does is easy. He is one of best athletes I've seen at that size.”

Back in 2014, that’s what NFL Network draft expert Mike Mayock had to say about Eric Ebron when he was coming out of North Carolina and entering the NFL Draft.

The Detroit Lions saw the exact same potential in Ebron, making him the 10th overall pick shortly thereafter.

Four seasons, 186 receptions, 2,070 yards and 11 touchdowns later, Ebron brings those talents to Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Colts on Monday evening announced the signing of the veteran free agent, who will pair with Pro Bowler Jack Doyle to form one of the better pass-catching tight end duos in the league.

Ebron’s rookie year got off to a slow start — 25 receptions for 248 yards and a touchdown in 13 games with seven starts — but he really got things going in his second season, catching 47 passes for 537 yards and five touchdowns. Over the next two seasons, Ebron would remain a consistent threat for the Lions’ offense, averaging 57 receptions for 643 yards and three touchdowns during that span.

Released by the Lions last week, Ebron became a free agent for the first time in his career, and said the Colts were the very first team to reach out to him about the possibility of signing with their team. After going on a few other visits, he signed his contract in Indianapolis on Monday night.

So what does Ebron’s game film say? Let’s take a look at his video highlights from the past four years in Detroit:
