CLASS 6A

Conner Coghlan’s 27-yard field goal in overtime was the difference as No. 7 Carmel overcame six turnovers to upset No. 3 and defending state champion Center Grove, 16-13. Jerome Halsell ran 29 times for 142 yards and one score to help the Greyhounds (10-4) to their eighth crown and first since 2011. Coghlan also converted kicks of 42 and 22 yards, and Jake McDonald added 197 yards through the air for Carmel. Luke Eckert connected on a 50-yard field goal to force overtime and also converted a 25-yard kick for the Trojans (12-2), who had their 12-game winning streak snapped. Titus McCoy rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown, while Nick Arbuckle recorded 12 tackles for Center Grove.

CLASS 5A

Nate Froelich scampered for 96 yards and what proved to be the game-winning four-yard touchdown in the third quarter as No. 5 Westfield held on for a 16-13 win over No. 4 Columbus East. Will Harrison booted field goals of 52, 44, and 42 yards to lift the Shamrocks (12-2) to their first state crown. Andy Sweet added 101 yards of offense, while Hank Grenda and Josh Tuffnall tallied 10 tackles apiece for Westfield. Jamon Hogan had 29 carries for 145 yards, and Josh Major added 90 yards on the ground and a touchdown pass for the Olympians (13-2), who had their 12-game winning streak halted.

CLASS 4A

Derek O’Connor accounted for more than 300 total yards and four touchdowns in top-ranked Indianapolis Roncalli’s 34-22 victory over No. 2 NorthWood. O’Connor ran 31 times for 154 yards and three scores and completed 11-of-18 passes for 159 yards, including a 70-yard scoring strike to Jacob Luedeman, to lead the Rebels (15-0) to their first title since 2004 and ninth overall. Trey Bilinski threw for 39 yards and ran for one touchdown, while Brayton Yoder added 77 yards rushing and two scores for the Panthers (15-0). Bronson Yoder registered 13 tackles and Drew Minnich added 12 stops for NorthWood.

CLASS 3A

Peter Morrison completed 17-of-25 tosses for 376 yards and a state-finals best six touchdowns for No. 7 Fort Wayne Concordia in its 56-14 victory over Lawrenceburg. Mark Mallers chipped in six catches for 117 yards and two scores, while Kamari Anderson-Drew had three receptions for 117 yards and two tallies to help the Cadets (13-2) earn third first championship. Peterson Kerlegrand scampered 17 times for 200 yards and two touchdowns and also caught a pass for another tally to lead Concordia to a 35-0 halftime cushion. Austin Bowling ran 29 times for 154 yards, and Reid Strobl passed for 115 yards and one touchdowns for the Tigers (13-2). Mason Parris added 12 tackles for Lawrenceburg.

CLASS 2A

Diomoni Small was 12-of-16 for 203 yards and two touchdowns as No. 5 Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter jumped out to a 14-0 lead on its way to a 28-6 win over No. 3 Eastbrook. Brad Bacon hauled in three passes for 123 yards and ran 72 yards for a score on the opening play from scrimmage to guide the Raiders (11-4), who overcame a 1-4 start to claim their fifth crown and first since 2013. Jackson Liddick accumulated 98 yards of offense and a touchdown pass to pace the Panthers (13-2), who had their nine-game winning streak halted.

CLASS 1A

Tyler Meurer rolled up more than 250 total yards as No. 2 Linton-Stockton captured its first state title with a 34-20 win over No. 3 Pioneer. Meurer raced 22 times for 158 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 95 yards, including a 53-yard scoring strike to William Smith, as the Miners (15-0) seized control with a 15-point fourth quarter. Ian Fonseca and Chance Howard contributed 13 tackles each for Linton-Stockton, which finished unbeaten for the first time since 1976. Jack Kiser ran 31 times for 102 yards and two scores, completed 8-of-17 throws for 153 yards and one touchdown, and also intercepted a pass for the Panthers (14-1). Keith Nies chipped in three catches for 111 yards for Pioneer.
