MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Gibson Southern captured the school’s first (Class 3A) regional crown in football with a 57-49 win over previously unbeaten Charlestown.

Mishawaka earned its first regional championship title since 1991 with a 39-7 triumph over Hammond Morton in Class 4A.

Mishawaka Marian came up with its first regional trophy since 1999 with a 42-20 win over Heritage in Class 3A.

MOVING FORWARD

This past week, the following teams registered their sixth points, meaning they will be bumped up one class as a result of the IHSAA’s new Tournament Success Factor.

Lafayette Central Catholic - Class 1A to 2A

Fort Wayne Bishop Luers - Class 2A to 3A

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard – Class 3A to 4A

Indianapolis Cathedral – Class 4A to 5A

STILL PERFECT

Here is the last time the following unbeaten teams were 13-0.

Columbus East (2008), F.W. Snider (2004), Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter (2008), Lawrence Central (1997), Linton-Stockton (2011).
