Colts play Texans on Sunday Night Football

The Indianapolis Colts (5-2) will travel to Houston this weekend for an AFC South Divisional game against the Texans (2-5) on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. EST at Reliant Stadium.

Heading into this game, both teams are coming off their bye weeks. Since 2000, the Colts have posted a 10-3 record in games immediately following the bye week and have won seven of the last eight such contests.

Prior to the bye week, the Colts defeated the Denver Broncos, 39-33, on Sunday Night Football at Lucas Oil Stadium. Quarterback Andrew Luck earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after tying a career-high with four total touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) in the game.

Outside linebacker Robert Mathis recorded 2.0 sacks, giving him a league-leading and career-high-tying total of 11.5 for the year. On special teams, punter Pat McAfee set a single-game franchise record with six punts pinned inside the 20-yard line and posted a season-high 47.1 net punting average.

The Texans come into this game having lost their past five contests. As a team, they hold the No. 1-ranked defense and No. 8-ranked offense in the NFL. Quarterback Case Keenum started Houston’s last game at Kansas City and completed 15-of-25 passes for 271 yards, one touchdown and a 110.6 passer rating in his first career start. Running back Arian Foster ranks second in the AFC with 542 rushing yards on 121 carries (4.5 avg.).
