The Indianapolis Colts are proud to announce Officer Jason Shearer as the fourth honoree of the 2017 Colts Anthem Angels program, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts are proud to announce Officer Jason Shearer as the fourth honoree of the 2017 Colts Anthem Angels program, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Officer Shearer, a local resident of Ligonier, IN, will be recognized at the Colts home game this Sunday, October 22, 2017.

For the past six years, Officer Jason Shearer has been making a difference in the lives of students at West Noble Primary School.

Officer Shearer, a 12-year law enforcement official, is well known for going above and beyond to ensure the safety and happiness of his students. He is the first and last staff member students see at school, he greets every child before they enter the school building, and directs afterschool traffic. He also calls every student that is absent from school and makes home visits to those students who have missed the bus or have missed school to check in.

“Unfortunately, some kids don’t have a lot to come from or much of a structure at home, so here at school we try to make their days the best that they can be,” said Officer Shearer.

Officer Shearer is involved in a number of school programs, and one of his favorites is “Guys Night Out.” For this program West Noble Primary male staff members take the male students out to eat and to an Indianapolis sports game. The goal of the program is to get young students out of the classroom and to teach them how to be well-mannered adults.

“You try to be the best role model you can and teach them [the students] that when you make mistakes you just try to make better choices down the road so you don’t make the same mistakes again,” said Officer Shearer.

For his dedication to the service of the students at West Noble Primary, we want to congratulate Officer Shearer as this week’s Anthem Angel.

Officer Shearer will receive four (4) VIP Club Seat Tickets to the Colts game, a feature story with their photo in the Colts gameday magazine (the Scout) and on www.colts.com, as well as on-field recognition at the game.

Nominations are currently being accepted for upcoming 2017 home games. For more information about Anthem Angels, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, please visit: www.colts.com/anthemangels.
