Colts Add To Running Back Group With Jordan Todman

Posted Mar 18, 2016

Intro: On Friday afternoon, the Colts brought in another veteran running back. Jordan Todman joins the Colts after five stops in a handful NFL seasons.

INDIANAPOLIS – In one week, the Colts have bolstered the depth and experience behind Frank Gore.

It started on Tuesday with the signing of Robert Turbin and was followed up Friday afternoon with the addition of Jordan Todman.

The Colts agreed to terms with the 5-9, 203-pound Todman, who has 44 games (three starts) of NFL experience.

With Todman now in Indianapolis, the Colts have supplanted an unknown backup running back situation with a couple of experienced options.

Todman, 26, has made five previous stops in the NFL.

Most recently with Pittsburgh, Todman received 16 postseason carries from the Steelers in two January playoff games.

The longest tenure for Todman in the NFL came from 2012-14 with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In five NFL seasons, Todman has 115 carries for 472 yards and three touchdowns.

Todman, a 2011 sixth-round pick from Connecticut, does bring some return ability to Indianapolis. He has 45 career punt returns and 69 kick returns.

Quan Bray manned those positions for the Colts late last season. Bray, a wide receiver, remains on the roster.

Previously, Todman spent time with the Chargers, Vikings, Jaguars, Panthers and Steelers.

The Colts running back group is now as followed: Frank Gore, Robert Turbin, Jordan Todman, Tyler Varga and Trey Williams.
