Freeman, (6-0, 234), spent the last three seasons (2009-2011) playing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League, where he totaled 144 tackles, 13 sacks, three interceptions and four fumble recoveries. In 2011, Freeman set career-highs in tackles (105), sacks (six) and interceptions (three), while earning CFL all-star honors as well as being selected at the West Division’s nominee for most outstanding defensive player.
He originally joined the NFL in 2008 as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans before being released prior to the start of the 2008 season.
Freeman played collegiately at Mary-Hardin Baylor (2004-07) and finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in tackles. He was named D3football.com Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. He was born May 1, 1986 in Waco, Texas.
