ANGERER WORKS, HOPES

Posted Dec 8, 2011

Linebacker Pat Angerer was hurt on the first play at New England last Sunday. Angerer played a few more snaps before exiting the contest for good with a knee ailment. After not practicing on Wednesday, he went a limited basis on Thursday.*

INDIANAPOLIS – Linebacker Pat Angerer was felled early in the New England game last Sunday with a knee injury.

Angerer was hurt on the initial snap, but he played for a few more plays before leaving the game.  After not practicing with his teammates on Wednesday, Angerer spoke prior to Thursday’s work, a session in which he intended to participate.

“It’s been getting better,” said Angerer.  “I’m excited and optimistic about it.  I’m going to practice today, go out there and run around.  (I want to) test it out and see how it feels.”

After speaking about it, Angerer practiced on a limited basis on Thursday’s.  He knows how he feels on Friday will be an indicator of progress.

“I think that’s the main thing, seeing how sore it is tomorrow,” said Angerer.  Head Coach Jim Caldwell said Angerer was day-to-day.

On Wednesday and Thursday, tight end Dallas Clark worked at full speed in practice after having missed the last three games with a lower leg injury.  Caldwell noted it was good having Clark back on the field.

“(He) did well.  He ran around, caught the ball and moved well.  We’ll see how he does today,” said Caldwell.  “Typically the following day or two are the ones that will give you an indication of where he is in terms of his (game) availability.

“Dallas loves to play.  He’s one of those guys who loves everything there is about football, period.  (He) loves getting his ankles taped.  He’s one of those guys.  He and Angerer have some similarities in that regard.  It’s great to have him out there.  He does a great job in terms of leadership and adds some enthusiasm.”
