The Indianapolis Colts will be hosting the third annual Blue Evening at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center for Blue Ladies members. A Blue Evening is an exclusive event for Blue Ladies members only.
This is a FREE event for all current Blue Ladies members. Members must RSVP for this event.

Indianapolis Colts and Martin University “Reach Your Dream Scholarship”
“How will an education at Martin University make a difference in my life?”
1. Complete the official scholarship contest entry form.
2. Write and submit an essay of 250-500 words addressing the question, “How will an education at Martin University make a difference in my life?”
3. Entries must be submitted through the Colts’ website.
4. Submissions will be accepted from Sunday, September 23, 2011 through Saturday, March 10, 2012.
5. One entry per person. If multiple entries from the same individual are received, the earliest entry will be accepted.
6. The scholarship will be awarded based upon a review of all entries by a designated Scholarship Award Committee.
7. The scholarship winner will be announced at a special program to be held at Martin University in the spring of 2012. The date will be announced later.
8. The scholarship is non-transferrable. The selected winner must use the scholarship for his/her educational expenses at Martin University. If the selected winner is unable to use the scholarship for his/her education at Martin University, the scholarship will be awarded to the contest’s runner-up determined by the Scholarship Award Committee.
1. The scholarship winner must be an incoming freshman to Martin University. An incoming freshman is defined as a student who is entering the university directly after graduating from high school or a High School diploma equivalent.
2. In order to claim the award, the contest winner must be admitted to or planning to enroll in courses at Martin University.
3. The scholarship will be applied to the fall semester 2012.
4. The following individuals are not eligible to submit entries; employees, contractors, directors, and officers of Martin University; members of the Scholarship Award Committee or their families.

Essay Body:Essay must address all parts of the 2012 contest topic. Essays on other topics will be disqualified.

Type your essay, double-spaced and using 12-point Times New Roman font with left and right margins set at 1 ¼ inches.
- Answer the essay contest question in a well-organized, well-reasoned essay of 250 to 500 words.
- The word count includes articles (the, and, a) and quotations.
- Include the exact word count on the cover page as shown in the above sample.
The Martin University Scholarship Award Committee will receive, review, and judge all submitted essays using the criteria described below.
Your essay will be judged based on the five criteria outlined below:
1. Focus: Examines how well your essay responds to the question presented.An excellent essay provides specific and thoughtful responses to the question presented.
2. Organization: Looks at the structure of your essay and the strength of your thesis statement. An excellent thesis and moves the reader through the text.
3. Originality: Looks for creativity in writing. An excellent essay, the writer proposes and develops creative ideas that address the essay’s theme.
4. Voice: Considers how well your writing engages the reader. An excellent essay fully captures the reader's attention.
5. Style and Mechanics: Examines how well the essay is written in terms of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, as well as word choice and sentence construction. An excellent essay uses standard writing conventions correctly, that is, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, with no errors.
The Martin University Scholarship Award Committee members will select the winning essay. Committee decisions are final. Participants will be notified in April 2012 of their essay's status.
