Hunger Relief

As families across Indiana face greater needs during the fall and winter months, the Colts strive to ensure that no individual goes hungry. Each season, the Colts take a stand against hunger by providing relief through various food preparation and distribution events for local families in need.

Thanksgiving Shopping Trip
During the month of November, the Colts and Meijer team up to provide a special Thanksgiving shopping trip for 10 women and their families. While the children enjoy snacks and crafts with Colts players, the mothers are provided with $200 in Meijer gift cards to purchase food items for a Thanksgiving feast.

Horseshoe Helpings: From Our Home to Yours
Each Thanksgiving season, the Colts host a Thanksgiving food giveaway for families in need. With the help of presenting sponsor US Foods, the Colts’ “Horseshoe Helpings: From Our Home to Yours” event will provide 2,000 families with the “fixin’s” for a Thanksgiving meal, including a turkey! The distribution will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium where select families will be invited to pick-up items to prepare a healthy and fulfilling Thanksgiving feast.

Million Meal Marathon
As a part of National Philanthropy Week each year, the Colts work hand-in-hand with Indiana Corn & Soy Bean Alliance and Kids Against Hunger to host the Million Meal Marathon, which provides nutritious meals to less fortunate children and their families. In this one day event, the marathon activates hundreds of local volunteers and engages students to teach them about the importance of volunteering.
