Entering their 29th season, the Indianapolis Colts cheerleaders continue to be an integral part of the Colts organization. On the field, these women perform for more than 63,000 fans in Lucas Oil Stadium. Off the field and in the community, these women donate their hearts and time as community representatives for hundreds of events across the state. The Colts cheerleaders have appeared at charity functions, conventions, grand openings, fairs and tradeshows, among other events and donate their time to many charitable and civic causes each year.
Colts cheerleaders can add excitement to any occasion. Whether it be signing autographs, mingling with guests or performing their many dance routines, they are sure to add a special element to any event. The "Colts Cheerleader Show Troupe" was created in 2002 to offer civic and corporate organizations additional entertainment options. These members entertained the Troops at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and at a variety of other sporting events. In 2009, the cheerleader Show Troupe participated in a 25-day Armed Forces Entertainment Tour in Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Spain. In 2010, the show trip did a 10-day promotional tour in Mexico City and a 7-day Armed Forces Entertainment Tour in Japan. The squad started 2011 off right with a trip to London, England to perform at the NFL International Super Bash!
Colts cheerleaders participated in approximately 300 community events throughout Indiana last year, logging more than 1,500 hours of service.

General Information
What are the Responsibilites and Requirements of A Colts Cheerleaders? "Indianapolis Colts cheerleaders…"
- Represent the Indianapolis Colts organization by actively supporting the team, values and goals of the Club.
- Serve by attending and actively participating in all Colts events, community involvement and volunteer activities of the Club.
- Allow individuals the opportunity for personal growth and development, increased community involvement as well as development of dance skills
- Allow the opportunity for exposure through various media, corporate, community and charity events
- Allow the opportunity for compensation generation through promotions and personal appearance.
How Can I Best Prepare?
Get ready for auditions by attending one or all of the audition workshops and prep classes offered.
Audition Prep Classes
- Time: 9:00-10:00 p.m.
- Dates: Every Thursday, January 5- February 23, 2012
- Cost: $15 per class
- Where: Curtain Call Dance Studio- 1833 N. Expo Lane Indianapolis
- Classes will include: jazz technique, kick/pom technique, dance combos, and more
- Please arrive 15 minutes early for the first class to register
Audition Workshops
- Time: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Dates: March 6, 13, 20, and 27
- Cost: $30.00 per class, (or save $20.00 when you sign up for all four workshops at once on March 6th!)
- Where: Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center, 7001 W 56th St., Indpls., IN, 46254
- Classes will include: stretching / warm-up, kicks, jazz technique, dance combinations, words of wisdom and more!
- All registration at the door
- Included in $30.00 each week will be Fitness Classes. Classes will be 6:30-7:30 on March 8, 15, 22, and 29 at the Indiana Farm Bureau FootballCenter
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age by April 15, 2012
- Must be a high school graduate as of June 30, 2012
- Must exibit reasonable dance skills and a strong willingness to learn

Top 10 Frequently Asked Questions:
- What are the dates / times for the 2012 auditions?
- The first day of auditions will be Saturday, March 31, 2012. The doors will open at 8:30 a.m. for registration. Warm-ups will start at 9:30 a.m. We will have two rounds of auditions that day. If you make it through the morning round, you will be asked to stay for the afternoon. Those that make it through the first day will be asked to return on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on April 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, and 19. The final night of auditions will be a Showcase on April 24, 2012.
- Will there be workshops or prep classes before auditions?
- Yes. We will be holding four audition workshops at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center located at 7001 W 56th St., Indpls., IN. The dates are March 6, 13, 20, and 27. During these workshops, we will be teaching choreography, working on kicks and offering advice and tips on how best to prepare for auditions. Included in the cost each week will be a fitness class on Thursday nights. Everyone trying out for the 2012 Colts Cheerleading squad is strongly encouraged to attend these workshops.
- If I make the squad, what is the commitment?
- Colts cheerleaders appear at every home game. We will practice every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:00 to 9:15 p.m. and select Saturdays if needed. You will also be required to do a minimum of 20 community service appearances.
- What are the age requirements?
- You must turn 18 by April 15, 2012 and graduate from high school by June 30, 2012. There is no maximum age requirement. Our current squad ranges in age from 19 to 26 with the average age being 23.
- Are there any height and weight requirements?
- No, but fitness is very important. You must be in good physical condition and proportioned for your height. We recommend that you maintain a regular exercise program and a healthy diet.
- What should I wear / bring to auditions?
- You should wear dance or workout attire that shows your legs and midriff, cropped well supported top and fitted shorts. No loose shirts or baggy clothing. You will also need dance shoes such as dance sneakers or jazz shoes. You may also bring water and a light snack, if needed.
- How should I wear my hair and make-up for auditions?
- You should wear your hair and make-up in a way that flatters you best. Long hair should be worn down but not in your face. Think glamorous rather than sporty. - What will the judges be looking for?
- The judges will be looking at appearance, dance skills, showmanship and personality.
- Is being a Colts Cheerleader a full-time job?
- No. Colts Cheerleaderss either work a full-time job outside the home, are a full-time student or a full-time mom.
- Do current squad members have to re-audition?
- Yes. Everyone must go through the audition process each season and no one is guaranteed a place on the squad.
